The traditional stone steading has been converted into 3 cottages providing comfortable accommodation of a high standard.
Situated in the countryside, with views across the firth to the hills.
Balblair is a small farm and is home to a flock of 20 ewes, 2 cows, some hens, various pets and the Strachan family.
Balblair is an ideal base from which to explore the Highlands. Cawdor Castle, Fort George, Culloden battlefield and Nairn's beaches are all within a few miles.

ACCOMMODATION The Byre This middle sized cottage sleeps 4 with a double bedroom on the ground floor (next to the bathroom - the shower is over the bath). Above the open plan living area (lounge/kitchen etc.) lies a twin bedded gallery room (with en-suite toilet), reached by a spiral staircase. The Bothy This cosy cottage for 2 has a light airy lounge with a gallery bedroom (reached by a spiral staircase) containing a double bed. There is a fully fitted kitchen off the lounge. A shower is provided above the bath. The Barn This spacious cottage has 3 large bedrooms and can sleep up to 8 people. The lounge is open plan with kitchen and dining area. There is a twin bedroom (next to shower/toilet) on the ground floor. A further bedroom on the first floor contains three single beds and the third bedroom contains a double bed with a z-bed (for a child). A family bathroom is additionally located on the first floor.

GENERAL INFO Total Capacity: 13 people in 3 units (2 cots provided). Prices: From £190 to £550 per week per cottage. Electricity is metered. Linen and towels included. Well behaved pets are welcome by prior arrangement. No smoking. Open all year including Christmas and New Year. Children's play area. All of the cottages have the following: Total control electric central heating (storage and panel heaters) Wood burning stoves in lounge Television Telephone Duvets, bed linen and towels provided Fully equipped kitchen with electric oven and hob, washing machine, dish washer, microwave and fridge-freezer as well as all necessary crockery and utensils Iron and ironing board Hairdryer Baby equipment is available on request Each cottage has its own south-facing patio and wood-burning stove

LOCATION

The area offers many attractions such as Cawdor castle, Fort George, Clava Cairns and Culloden Battlefield. The Cairngorms, Loch Ness, the Isle of Skye and even John o’groats are all within a day’s car journey. For golfers, there are 3 courses in Inverness, 2 in Nairn and many more within an hour’s drive. There are tennis courts, putting greens and swimming pools in Inverness and Nairn. Cycling, walking and bird watching can all be enjoyed in the Croy area.
